01/28/2018 - College PREP - San Diego, CA Eddie is an athletic 2019 OF prospect who can go get it in the outfield. He has blazing speed that is apparent both on the base paths and in the field. He gets a quick first step in the outfield and takes efficient routes to the ball to shows extended range. He fields in an athletic position and gains momentum to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, he gets on plane early and works on a level path to the ball. He has quick hands through the zone and keeps his eyes on the barrel to make square contact and spray the ball to all fields. Driving through his lower half will unlock power as he continues to develop. Eddie is an intriguing prospect who we definitely want to follow as he continues to progress.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Eddie is a young, versatile player who enjoys playing the game. Defensively he reads the ball well in the OF allowing himself to get behind the ball. He catches fly balls at their highest points and works well through the ball. At the plate, Eddie shows good balance with a solid base. He has a smooth hand path that drives through the zone and shows good barrel control. His backside works well and his hips clear through the zone. Eddie is a disciplined ball player who strives to improve and be coachable.

12/13/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Westlake Village, CA Eddie is a young, 2-way player as an OF/SS. With the bat, this RH swinger shows a square setup with quiet/simple actions. Swing path is level as he takes a hack and drives the middle of the field. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands and has a clean exchange to throw. At SS, Eddie shows active footwork and moves well laterally around the ground ball. He keeps the GB in front, gathers well and works in-line toward his target. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Stride
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Contact points
Outfield
1. More aggressiveness
2. Arm strength (long toss)
Infield
1. Pre-pitch footwork
2. Glove presentation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
