Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Hayden is an athletic 2023 2B/RHP prospect. He is a hard-working and coachable player that made several adjustments over the weekend at Pirate City. In the INF, Hayden has an active prep step, plays through the backhand, and makes accurate throws. Continuing to present a low/early glove, and playing from the ground up will keep him in a good fielding position. At the plate, Hayden has a tall and athletic stance. He showed a middle approach during the games and tried to barrel the ball on every swing. If he continues to use the lower half and attack the inside part of the ball he will consistently make hard contact to all fields. On the bump, Hayden was aggressive in the strike zone and showed the ability to throw downhill. He uses his lower half and made several adjustments in his outing. Hayden will improve and build confidence with experience. We hope to see his progress in the future.

05/14/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Hayden is a 2B/OF who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 2B, he takes efficient routes to the GB hustling hard laterally. He tries to work around and get into a square fielding position on GB's. In the OF, he works to get behind the fly ball. He plays through the ball and makes accurate throws to his target. At the plate, Hayden displays a tall setup and gets back into a load. He explodes his lower 1/2 through as he creates consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Quicker footwork
2. Develop soft hands
3. Clean exchange to throw
Outfield
1. Get behind the fly ball
2. Low fielding position
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Stay balanced through contact
3. Improve bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
