08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential is now well above average an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap guy. At SS, hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break. He throws a knuckle ball that shows good tumbling / sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.
