Hayden worked out behind the plate and on the mound in Pirate City. Behind the dish, Hayden showed active footwork, a square set-up, and the ability to block the baseball well. He has a clean exchange and delivers the ball with accuracy to 2nd base with pop times as low as 2.22. On the mound, Hayden works in good rhythm, he throws strikes, and mixes his pitches well. He has a clean arm action, a controlled landing, and works on a downhill plane. Offensively, Hayden improved both hitting and power grades to 42. He has a tall set-up, good bat speed, and swings in good rhythm. Hayden shows good discipline at the plate, fast bat speed, and hard contact to the pull side.

Hayden is a talented C/RHP who has a tall, projectable frame and good upside on the diamond. As a left-handed hitter, Hayden has an open stance with a quiet head and his weight in the back of his stance. He has a middle of the field approach and gets good hand separation. He takes a long stride and long, upward swing path. Hayden is a contact hitter who has good potential to get even better. Behind the plate, Hayden has a solid setup and creates effective angles. He keeps his chest over the ball and stays square to the field. Hayden receives the ball with a firm glove and has long exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good carry down to 2B. On the mound, Hayden has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. He extends through his release and stays square to home plate. Hayden pitches with good pace and a repeatable delivery. His fastball has good run and he commands it to both sides of the plate at 76-80 MPH. His changeup has good sink and his curveball is developing. Overall, Hayden has a well-rounded skill set with potential to make an impact in multiple areas of the game.
