05/27/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Keizer (Salem), OR Hayden is an athletic built shortstop prospect who has a talented skill set on both sides of the ball. In the field, Hayden plays with quick, active footwork and agile actions covering good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic, square position. Hayden has a quick exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through his release showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. He also shows a smooth backhand. As a right-handed hitter, Hayden has a tall setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and on-time stride as he partially uses his lower half throughout his swing. Hayden has an on-plane swing path consistently landing the barrel to the baseball. He is a line drive type hitter who can drive the ball to the opposite field. Overall, Hayden is a well-rounded prospect who can take his game to the next level.

07/19/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Hayden is a talented shortstop prospect who has a tall, lean build and above average skill set on both sides of the ball. As a right-hand hitter, Hayden has a square stance with a centered balance. He has a smooth load with good rhythm and a short stride. Hayden has an effective lower half throughout his swing. He gets good extension and separation with his hands. Hayden is a contact type hitter who has an aggressive approach looking to swing the bat. In the field, Hayden plays with quick footwork and an effective first step giving him the ability to cover good territory. He moves with agile actions and presents his glove as he fields the ball athletically. Hayden has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball and shows consistently strong throws across the diamond. Overall, Hayden plays the game athletically with a good approach giving him a bright future on the diamond.

05/28/2017 - College PREP - Keizer (Salem), OR Hayden is an athletic built shortstop prospect who has a talented skill set and graduates in 2019. In the field, Hayden plays with active footwork and takes the correct angles to cover ground in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields it squarely. Hayden shows a smooth backhand and has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball to produce consistently strong throws across the diamond. As a right-handed hitter, Hayden has a tall stance with quiet hands. He has a good load with a square stride. Hayden shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path. He gets good separation with his hands. Hayden shows the ability to be a line drive type hitter. Overall, Hayden has a good approach the game and talent on both sides of the ball.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Hayden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed through a direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with a 2B. In the MIF, defensive abilities are now tremendous as he displays quick, athletic actions. He uses his quick / athletic feet well in attacking balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he shows big play potential. Throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the diamond.

11/06/2016 - College PREP - Hillsboro, OR Hayden is a solid OF/SS prospect who has talent and upside in multiple areas of the game. Offensively, Hayden has an athletic stance with a firm front side. He has smooth rhythm to get back into a loaded position. Hayden stays balanced with an on-plane swing path as he squares the ball up consistently. He has above average bat speed stroking the baseball to each gap. In the outfield, he has active footwork and an aggressive approach. He gets around the baseball and gains momentum through his release throwing from a 3/4 arm slot for accurate throws. In the infield, Hayden shows active prep and can move laterally quickly. He has good glove reactions with a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action. He has a clean exchange and works in-line toward 1B. Overall, Hayden is an athletic 2-way player who has a very bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
