12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Hayden is a very polite and intelligent young player, who showcased his skills at 2nd base in his time in Pirate City. Defensively, he read the ball off the bat quickly and worked to each ball with quick and fluid feet. Range to both his glove hand and backhand side were impressive, as was his accurate arm, which plays well for the position. Offensively, he sprayed the ball to all fields through an athletic setup, and showed very good plate discipline in each of his at-bats. Hands were loaded on time, quick, and worked directly to the baseball. Continuing to work on keeping his weight back, and exploding his back hip to the pitcher after contact, will help with power to all fields. Overall, Hayden is a gamer who shows great passion for the game and a true knowledge of how to play. With continued hard work, he will be on the radar of collegiate coaches in the near future.

07/11/2016 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Hayden is a lean 2B who will graduate in 2018. At 2B, defensive abilities are solid, displaying smooth, fluid actions. He moves well laterally displaying range and displays a solid backhand. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level / aggressive swing path. He displays a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. With 2 years to further develop, Hayden has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
