Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

11/04/2018 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Hayden is a tall RHP/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Hayden repeats his delivery well and works to keep his pitches around the zone. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph with cutting action. Slider sits from 63-64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 65-67mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Hayden improve as a pitcher. In the field, Hayden makes the routine plays and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Hayden improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load well and sprays the ball to all fields. Hayden can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half through more. Overall, Hayden is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/14/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hayden is an athletic and talented 2019 2-way prospect. In the OF, Hayden is aggressive to the ball, creates momentum in his lower half when throwing, and is accurate to the bases. Continuing to work on an active prep step and anticipating the ball off the bat will improve his first step quickness to the ball. At the plate, Hayden starts in a tall stance, creates separation in his load, and attacks the ball with his lower half. He keeps his hands back on breaking balls and has a direct path to the ball. On the bump, Hayden gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. Continuing to work north to south and driving his back leg toward the plate will allow pound the bottom half of the zone. Hayden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Sanford (Orlando), FL Hayden is a tall RHP/OF prospect who will gradaute in 2019. On the mound, Hayden shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He takes a controlled stride and extends through on his release. Hayden has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup ranges from 64-65mph with cutting action. Hayden can improve as a pitcher by loosening his arm action and by finishing with his chest over his front knee. In the field, Hayden makes the routine play and plays through the ball well. He gains momentum on his throws and works to keep them accurate to his target. Hayden can improve defensively by improving his footwork to the ball. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and gets into his load well. He tracks the ball well and sprays to all fields. Hayden can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride and by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Hayden is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
