01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Haydn continues to grow and shape into a promising catcher in the 2020 class. He did a very nice job of receiving the ball with strong and soft hands and maintained very athletic primary and secondary receiving positions. He moves laterally very well when blocking and controls rebounds with proper posture and technique. He showcased a clean exchange when making throws to bases with a short and quick release. He posted a low 2.02 pop time with strong, accurate throws. Offensively, he has a line drive approach and was able to drive the baseball to all fields. He creates rhythm and uses his direct bat path to make consistent, hard contact. A very athletic catcher, he also posted a 6.96 sec 60 yard dash.

12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Haydn continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet work in line towards his target through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.00 range with accuracy and zip on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and centers balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was a perfect 6 for 6 with a 2B and a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

11/25/2018 - College PREP - Pearland (Houston), TX Haydn is an athletic C/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Haydn shows quick footwork and moves to block well. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws to 2B, keeping them on-line to the bag. Setting up in a more square stance can help Haydn improve as a C. In the OF, Haydn shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and keeps his throws accurate with good carry through his target. Taking better angles to the ball can help Haydn improve as an OF. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and is smooth getting back into his load. He drives through well with his lower half and produces solid gap to gap pop. Haydn can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride. Overall, Haydn is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/17/2018 - National Tryout - Highland Park (DFW), TX Haydn continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.28 range as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
