12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Hector is a lean, athletic OF/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.03. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 4 for 8 with 3B. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with sharp, downward action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a great teammate. With 2 years to further develop, Hector has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.
