12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Hector is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, Hector shows efficient footwork and fields in a square position. He makes a two-handed exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Taking a better first step can help Hector improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He takes a compact swing and rotates his core well, leading to solid contact to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Hector improve as a hitter. On the mound, Hector gathers over the rubber and works with a loose arm, keeping his pitches around the zone. His fastball tops out at 64mph. Hector can improve as a pitcher by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Hector has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
