07/17/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Hartford, CT Hector is an OF/SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.87 seconds. At SS, he works to center the ball with fluid feet and showed ability to make routine plays. Creates good rhythm as he tracks ball to glove and has a quick/clean transfer. Made on-line throws to first base from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 80mph. In the OF, starts with a prep step and active feet as he ran good routes to baseball. He works behind the ball and fields from an athletic fielding position with low funnel off of his left foot. Made accurate/on-line throws through his cutoff man. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance. Starts with a square glide step and gets his hands separated. Is centered at contact with a fast barrel through the hitting zone. During his round of BP, he sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Hector having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Hector is a coachable 2B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Hector takes a good prep step and shows smooth footwork. He fields with soft hands and works through the ball well, making accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Hector build up his arm strength. At the plate, Hector sets up in an athletic stance and gets into a simple load. He barrels up the baseball well and produces strong contact, going 3-6 with a triple during the event. Hector can create more quality contact by taking a more square stride toward the pitcher. Overall, Hector is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manchester, CT Hector is lean OF/SS who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his quick feet (7.28 60 time) well in covering a lot of ground in the OF. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate with carry (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Hector has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
