12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Henry continues to show a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.25 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are aggressive in working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a solid setup and soft glove action, sticking balls in the zone well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

08/08/2017 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Henry improved in nearly every category during his last workout in Trenton, NJ. He improved his radar velocity to 78 MPH and lowered his pop times to 2.2. Behind the plate, his hands and feet work together, he presents his glove, and tracks the ball into a soft mitt. He sits in low, fields athletically, and delivers the ball accurately to 2nd base. At the plate, hitting and power grades both spiked. He shows an athletic setup, fluid rhythm/timing and takes an aggressive hack on-plane with the pitch. Henry has very good bat speed, a short swing path, and good pop in his stick. He will fit nicely into a clean-up type role where he'll be able to drive in runs. Goodier is a solid catcher who will catch the eyes of some coaches as he enters his junior year.

05/29/2016 - College PREP - Wappinger Falls, NY Henry is a RHH catcher who has a solid skill-set. With the bat, this righty shows a square/athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation, whips the barrel on a short/direct path and squares the ball up with some pop. He engages his lower 1/2 and creates extension through contact. Behind the plate - he sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft mitt. He has a clean transfer/exchange and makes accurate throws down to 2B - pop times of 2.10. Continuing to develop his footwork for lateral movements (blocking) will help him to progress behind the plate. Henry has upside with a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
