ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Henry is a solid 2-way player at C/RHP. Behind the dish Henry presents a solid target tracking the ball in well and receives it with a firm wrist. As he goes to throw, he gets momentum towards second making clean exchanges and is accurate to the bag. Blocking, his footwork is agile, and he centers the ball well keeping it in front allowing for effortless recovery. Squaring his stance off should allow Henry to get more strikes called and give the pitcher a better target. At the dish, Henry sets up in a square and tall stance with high hands. He shows good rhythm with controlled movements as he works to get the barrel on plane with the pitch. He rotates his core well to generate power and works a simple line drive approach. Pitching, he shows a FB/CB combo with the FB showing arm side run and the CB showing 10-4 action with good depth. Henry has a good presence on the mound with simple movements as he gathers over the rubber. His arm action is clean as he keeps his shoulders in line to the plate falling off slightly to the 1B side. A long toss program can help him generate more arm strength on the mound and behind the dish. As a 2-way player, Henry can be a versatile player as he continues to develop over the next few years.

09/30/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Henry is an athletic 2-way player who catches and pitches. He can also switch hit. On the mound, Henry has a loose arm circle, he separates on time, and lands with good direction toward home. He gets good pivot off his back foot, finishes in a complete position, and throws strikes. Behind the plate, Henry has agile movements, quick feet, and he sticks the ball well. He has firm hands and a short arm action to 2nd base. Offensively, Henry is equally as good from both sides of the plate. From the right, Henry has a good load, solid hip action, and he can work the ball to the opposite field. From the left side, Henry has a level swing, good balance, and he hits line drives. Overall skills can improve if Henry can work on the following.

Pitching
1. Stride/balance
2. Arm extension
Catching
1. Exchange
2. Release
3. Quicken feet
Offense
1. Rhythm
2. Lower body
3. Load/stride

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
