01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Henry is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training in Arizona. Behind the plate, Henry sits in a low primary stance and receives the ball out in front of his body. He gets into a low secondary stance and works to make accurate throws to 2B. He moves on time to block and tucks his chin well. Gaining more ground to throw can help Henry improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is on time getting into a small load and works to barrel up the baseball. Henry can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With seven years to develop, Henry has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Santa Rosa, CA Henry is a young, athletic, 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, Henry has a controlled delivery, a good arm circle, and he lands with good direction toward home plate. He has a controlled stride, keeps his eyes on target, and competes in the zone. Behind the plate, Henry has active feet, athletic actions, and he sticks the ball well. He is quick to block, he has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action to 2nd base. Offensively, Henry has a tall set-up, a short stride, and he works the ball to the opposite field. He puts the bat on the ball and finishes through properly. Henry can continue to get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
