02/20/2017 - College PREP - Brentwood (Long Island), NY Henry continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.10 with life, accuracy, and on line carry to his throws. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the balls, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Henry will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

08/03/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Henry is a young, wiry catching and 1B prospect who graduates in 2018. Offensively, Henry has a wide, square setup with a short, closed stride with balance. He has fluid rhythm getting his foot down on time and keeping his head down through contact. Henry gets good rotation from the backside to produce hard pull contact. Behind the plate, Henry plays with active feet and moves athletically giving him good range. He displays a low target and has soft hands receiving. Henry's release was quick and shows to be accurate. His POP times ranged from 2.25-2.40 seconds. Henry has a projectable frame and the right attitude to develop him game for the next level.

06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Henry continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.48. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.24 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills show as playable tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach, mainly to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2015 - College PREP - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Henry is a R/R 2-way player (C/1B) who excels with the bat. Offensively, this righty shows an athletic setup with centered balance and rhythm in his hands. Swing is compact through a level path as he connects and drives the middle of the field. Behind the dish - Henry sits in well with flexion. He is quick laterally and works to body up pitches in the dirt, keeping them in front. Throws to 2B are accurate with pop times of 2.25. Times will continue to drop as he gains more arm strength (long toss) and quickens his exchange. At 1B, Henry has active prep footwork as he's ready to go right or left. He tracks the GB into a soft mitt and gathers well. A 2018 grad - Henry has tools with still time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
