08/14/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Hiram is a 2017 RHP/1B with a lean athletic frame (6'3 175). On the mound Hiram shows very good composure and works quickly with a smooth and easy tempo. Throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action, the ball jumps out of his hand with his FB sitting 85-87mph with good downhill angle and natural run. CB has 11/5 shape with late break. Change-up sits from 72-74mph with easy arm stroke and good sink. Defensively Hiram provides a large target at 1B with good feel around the bag He approaches the ball well with good low to high posture and feel to cover ground laterally. In the box, Hiram hits from the right side showing an aggressive approach. His on time rhythm and timing allows him to get into a strong launch position, driving the ball into the gaps. Overall, Hiram is an athletic prospect with good feel on the mound and as a positional player that has the potential to contribute on many college rosters.
