01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Holden a tall, athletic RHP/1B who showed as a prospect at the Under Armour Pre Season All American Tournament. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 86-88 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as excellent pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he displays tremendous hitting / power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are firm and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Throws are accurate with online zip to his target. Holden has an upside on the mound and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

08/16/2020 - All-In Membership - Daytona Beach, FL Holden is a tall/athletic/projectable (6'0"/180) 2-way player as a RHP/OF who showed well on the diamond. On the mound, this righty has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and clean/free arm action working from the stretch. He has smooth separation and drives downhill toward the fish. FB has good arm-side run ranging from 77-78 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with good action. Changeup has sink and will get GB outs. He is around the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. In the OF, he has active prep with solid routes to track down fly-balls. He works behind and through the ball with a quick/clean exchange to throw. Throws show carry & accuracy (85 mph). With the bat, this righty stands in well with an athletic setup with rhythm to load. He engages his lower 1/2 and likes the pitch on the inner 1/2, pulling it with pop (exit velocity = 85 mph). Harris is a talented 2-way prospect who has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
