06/18/2016 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Hudson is a very talented 1B prospect who can absolutely swing it. As a hitter - he steps into the box with a purpose and that is look to take a hack. Hands are quick generating plus bat whip on a direct path as he connects with the ball exploding off of his barrel (exit velocity = 95 mph). He proved to be a tough out, going 4 for 9 with 2 singles, a double and a HR. At 1B - Hudson shows active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the ball. He moves well around the bag and can adjust his footwork quickly. This projectable 1B has a ton of upside with the skills that will translate well into the next level of play.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
