04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Hudson is a SS/RHP prospect in the class of 2023. On the mound, he does a very good job of repeating his delivery. Does a good job gathering himself and working up to a good balance point before working down the mound. Has very loose and clean arm action delivering his pitches from a high ¾ arm slot. Throws 3 pitches for strikes and mixes speed well to keep hitters off balance. Fastball is his best pitch topping at 82 mph. In the infield, he does a good job working downhill on the baseball. Fields out front with a good glove angle. Does a good job creating momentum to throw across the diamond. At the plate, he does a good job getting on plane early. Shows a simple load and repeatable swing. Lots of athleticism in his swing. Extends through the baseball. Hudson is a very fun prospect to watch that we hope to see more of in the future.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hudson is an athletic SS/RHP with good feel for the game. At SS, Hudson show relaxed and smooth actions with good angles to the ball. He shows plus range to the glove side as he gets square to field the ball with a confident glove. His exchanges are clean as he works to get rid of the ball with accurate throws across the diamond showing good backspin. Getting his exchange to throw a little faster will allow him to be a more efficient SS. At the plate, Hudson sets up in a square stance with loose hands. He shows good rhythm keeping his weight balanced as he gets his foot down on time and fires his lower half through. His swing is smooth making consistent contact with a gap to gap approach. On the mound, Hudson shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB combo. Pitching, he shows confidence starting square on the rubber starting with simple movements as he gathers over the rubber with a relaxed knee lift. His arm action is fluid and clean as he works down the mound with a good stride and controlled landing. Keeping his direction cleaner can help with accuracy as he falls off the 1B side at times. Hudson has put in a lot of work a continues to grow and get better.

04/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Hudson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line zip across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball through a solid line drive approach. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA Hudson showed improvements in his all around game during his last workout in Philly. Defensively, skills are solid, feet are active, and he fields with agility in an athletic position. Hudson has good pre-pitch actions, he makes plays consistently, and throws with momentum and consistency to his target. On the mound, Hudson has a clean arm circle, he works on a downhill plane, and he competes in the zone. His FB velocity increased to 78 MPH during the event. Offensively, Hudson is a solid hitter with good bat speed and a rhythmic swing. He loads well, has a good swing path, and he works the ball gap to gap. Skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Hudson is a talented SS/RHP prospect who has a tall, projectable build. As a right-handed hitter, Hudson has a tall, square setup with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and on-time stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Hudson shows fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the ball producing square contact. Hudson is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to use all fields. In the field, Hudson plays with effective footwork and covers good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. Hudson has a clean exchange and throws from an over the top arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing throws with good carry across the diamond. On the mound, Hudson has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He pitches with good tempo and repeats his motion. Hudson has a clean, loose arm action and extends through his release. He stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. Hudson does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. He commands his fastball and curveball. Overall, Hudson is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to get even better.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Hudson worked out at SS and on the mound during his last workout with the Factory. He showed solid improvements defensively and also spiked hitting grades. At SS, Hudson has active feet, soft hands, and he fields from the right. He moves well to the ball, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a loose arm action to his target. On the mound, Hudson has a clean arm circle, eyes on target, and a controlled landing with control in the zone. At the plate, offensive numbers improved to 35's. He has a simple/middle approach, good timing, and a direct barrel to the ball. He makes square contact, hits line drives, and uses his lower body. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Hudson is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at SS, he's quick on his feet as he gets into a low/athletic fielding position. He fields GB's with soft hands and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the stick, this RHH has smooth rhythm in his hands. He swings level through the zone as he drives pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
