08/31/2013 - Little League® Experience - East Regional (Bristol, CT) Hunter is a LHP and 1B who showed a genuine passion for the game. On the mound he is balanced, has good rhythm/tempo and he throws strikes. He needs to be longer with his arm action, stay in-line to the target and finish his pitches with extension out front. As a fielder Hunter displayed good athleticism, sure hands and he keeps the ball out front well. Areas for improvement include getting better with his footwork around the bag and long tossing for arm strength/throwing mechanics. At the plate Hunter showed a good stride/load, workable lower half and good rhythm/timing. He makes consistent contact from a short swing path and he uses the whole field. He needs to limit the motion in is body and use more top hand. Hunter has the ability and attitude it will take to find success in the future if he continues to work hard.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
