01/19/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Hunter is a 2027 RHP/SS prospect that recently showed his skills at the Pre-Season All-American Tournament. At short, he does a great job of getting in a low fielding position and takes good angles to the baseball. He presents his hands out in front when fielding which helps him have a clean exchange when making throws. He has a short arm action and creates momentum to his targets. He makes accurate throws and does a nice job of following his flips on double play balls. At the plate, he starts in an open stance with low hands and has an activated load with a controlled, centered stride. He has very controlled and easy movements in the box and does a nice job of working through the baseball with his lower half. He stays on-plane to the baseball with his swing and has fast bat speed. He shows off good coordination with his hips and hands and shows the ability to spray line drives to all fields. He reached base twice in game action. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and shows command of his 3 offerings. He has a good presence on the mound and does a good job of gathering his balance and getting on-time separation. He keeps his stride in-line to his target and finishes strong with his back leg. He ran his FB up to 80 MPH and did a nice job of using his off-speed pitches to complement his FB. He struck out 5 in 3 innings of game action and allowed only one hit. Overall, Hunter is an intriguing prospect that we are excited to see more of in the future!
