12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hunter is an athletic and talented Catching prospect that grinds behind the plate. He has a high baseball IQ and makes his teammates better. Behind the plate, Hunter starts in an athletic stance, he presents a big target, and controls the ball in the strike zone. When blocking, he needs to continue to anticipate the ball in the dirt, lead with his glove, and be on time. When throwing, he gains ground but he needs to create momentum with his lower half into the ball and exchange the ball in front of his chest. At the plate, Hunter starts in a crouched stance and attacks the inside part of the ball. He has quick hands with a pull side approach. Continuing to rotate his lower half and keeping his head down on the ball will improve his contact rate to all fields. Hunter wants to get better and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Hunter is as a strong and athletic 2022 utility prospect. Behind the dish, Hunter has a quiet primary stance and presents a low target. He tries to work behind the ball and sees the ball into his glove when receiving. Hes stiff when blocking but shows good actions to the ball. When throwing, he has quick feet, a clean release, and he makes accurate throws. At the hot corner, Hunter shows some lateral range and makes the routine play. After fielding the ball he has proper footwork when throwing and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Hunter starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He rotates his backside through the ball and uses the whole field. Hunter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
