06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Hunter is an athletic RHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are at a pro level as he shows big play potential. Hunter has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level and a solid draft pick.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter is an athletic and talented 2020 SS prospect with good energy on the field. At SS, Hunter is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and works from the ground up. He fields the ball in front of his body, plays through his backhand, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Hunter starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He creates backside rotation with his lower half, has fast hands, and attacks the inside part of the ball. In game, Hunter has a middle approach and hunts the fastball early in counts. Hunter is a gamer and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Hunter is a young SS with solid all-around tools and a wiry-strong 6'2", 170-pound frame. He swings the bat with authority, taking an aggressive hack with intent, and squared up a lot of balls in batting practice at the UA Baseball Factory Futures Texas event. After his loud BP, Hunter hit the ball hard in the game including a 2B in his 3rd at bat. There are some similarities to Josh Donaldson in Hunter's swing with a coordinated hand hitch/leg kick to get it going and a near-identical finish. In the field, Hunter moves well laterally (as you'd expect from a 6.74 runner) and shows solid hands. He's comfortable around the bag on double plays and has enough arm (87 mph raw arm strength) to stay on the left side of the diamond. Overall, this is an athletic young prospect with an impact bat.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
