07/15/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Hunter is an athletic and talented 2021 OF prospect that made several adjustments throughout the training weekend. In the OF, Hunter reads the ball off the bat and creates angles to the ball. He needs to continue to work on getting behind fly balls and creating momentum in his lower half to throw the ball. At the plate, Hunter starts in an open stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He keeps a quiet head, stays inside the ball, and stays balanced through contact. He needs to continue to active the back side and get rotation into the ball to allow his hands to work through the ball. Hunter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he continues to show best through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and works through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.97 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a solid setup and sticks ball through the receiving process. Blocking skills need further development and instruction to improve.

03/05/2017 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Hunter is a lean catcher who will graduate in 2021. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive approach. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line to his target. Pop times showed in the 3.19 range with accuracy to his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He will benefit by getting instruction and further development through the blocking process. With 4 years to further develop, Hunter has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
