01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter continues to shine on the diamond. In the OF, he displays well above average defensive abilities. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry through his target. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 3B.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Hunter has the makings of a special type player. This athletic OF can cover a ton of ground with speed. He takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. Transfer is smooth with strong throws through his cut-off man, displaying excellent arm strength. As a hitter - this righty maintains centered balance with a strong base. Swing is short/quick (94 exit velocity) and works on a direct path as he drives the ball to the gaps with pop. An all-around solid prospect - Hunter tools will translate well into the next level.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter Foster is a 6'3/180 lbs OF that showed strong athleticism and play ability at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament with Baseball Factory. Defensively, he moved his feet quickly to cover the gaps and made plays with his glove in front. His hands played soft/sure and he threw with momentum and carry to his targets. At the dish, he had good balance and got his body into a strong position ready to hit. He flashed quick hands and plus bat speed with the ball jumping off his bat when centered. He worked in the middle to pull side with his approach and rotated his core to generate some torque and bat whip. In all - Hunter is a talented prospect that is a 6.8 or lower runner that also showed a 9'3" broad jump and 4.32 home to first.

10/25/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Foster only showed in the OF at the event and continues to show plus tools across the board with a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, range is a plus as he utilizes his tremendous foot speed and covers a lot of ground. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target as he utilizes two hands well out away from his body. Arm strength is a plus as with throws showing plus carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He shows big play potential in the OF. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying quick hands as indicated by his 87 mph exit velocity that works short / direct to the baseball. He works to stay inside the ball utilizing all fields with the baseball coming off his bat a little differently when centered, displaying gap to gap pop.

08/03/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Hunter is a very coachable player that works hard and has athletic abilities. Currently, he projects best defensively in the OF where he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Hands / feet work well through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with on line carry to his target. At 2B, he makes the routine plays, displaying clean hands. At the plate, he tracks the ball well and is very patient with a solid eye as he drew 4 BB at event. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with ball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more aggressively through the swing.

06/07/2015 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Hunter is a tall, athletic 2B/OF that will graduate in 2018 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.85 60 time. Currently, he projects best in the OF for the next level. He plays hard and takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. He works to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target and shows big play potential in the OF. Throws are accurate with life and carry but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker to improve arm grade. At 2B, feet are active as he works to square balls up in making the routine play. Hands are clean in working through a low approach. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more while presenting hands more out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Hunter has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
