ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Waterford Township (Detroit), MI Hunter is a tall RHP/1B that will graduate in 2020. At 1B, Hunter shows effective footwork as he works to the ball fielding the back hand well. Getting to the ball, he presents a good glove but can improve by fielding the ball a little more in front of his body. His exchanges are quick and clean as he gets rid of the ball with consistent and online throws. At the plate, Hunter shows a tall setup and keeps his stride square to start the swing. He keeps his balance centered as he works to get on plane with the ball showing good pop to the pull side. Pitching, Hunter shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. He throws the FB with high command, the CB is 11-5 with gradual break, and the CH shows good sink with deceptive FB arm speed. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber well separating his hands on time as he strides square to the plate. More mobility can help Hunter use his lower half more efficiently. Overall, Hunter shows the ability to be a serviceable 2-way player and we look forward to seeing his progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
