11/22/2015 - College PREP - Corpus Christi, TX Hunter continues to mature and improve both physically and on the diamond. He is a strong, solidly built 3B with a complete all-around game. At the plate his strong hands, balanced approach and feel for the barrel are an outstanding combination. He has a knack for squaring balls up and the contact is loud. He shows the ability to drive balls to all parts of the park. As a defender, Hunter takes good angles, has sure hands, exchanges cleanly and has plenty of carry on his throws across the diamond. This is a player who combines physicality with tools and the ability to use them in games. He is a prospect to watch.

10/07/2015 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Hunter showed as a 3B plus on the mound for the first at the event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Currently, he projects best at 3B where he has a promising future. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Defensive abilities at 3B are now well above average, displaying smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process through the fielding process. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds the double play and has big play potential. Throws are accurate with carry as he works to get rid of the baseball quickly, displaying well above average arm strength. At the plate is continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball with baseball exploding off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. At the event, 3 for 10 and with several quality AB's. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action and shows potential as being a quality pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team guy and works hard to be the best player he can be.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Hunter is a junior ball player with loads of potential. At the plate, Hunter displayed solid, consistent hard contact, with some late strong bat whip. Continuing to improve his plate discipline and looking for his pitch will make him a batter that pitchers hate to face. Defensively, Hunter shows some arm strength and takes good glove side angles. Softening his hands and improving his lateral quickness will make him an above average 3B. Hunter even jumped on the bump to compete with a repeatable delivery. He threw a fastball for strikes and flashed feel for an 11/5 CB. He should develop a CH and work more with his lower half flexibility for greater pitchability. In all - Hunter is a great kid that is respectful and will make a difference at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
