11/16/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Hunter is a strong 2023 RHP/1B prospect. He is a very coachable player and made several adjustments over the weekend at Pirate City. At 1B, Hunter works off the bag well while holding runners on. He funnels the ball into his glove and works through the backhand. Working from the ground up and having bag awareness will help him consistently make the routine plays. At the plate, Hunter has an athletic stance, and has good pitch recognition. He makes hard contact as a result of a direct swing path. Loading his hands back, creating rhythm, and using the lower half more consistently will allow him to drive the ball to all fields with power. Having a loose grip on the bat and keeping his head down at contact will help him stay inside the ball. On the bump, Hunter separates on time, and uses the lower half to drive off the rubber. Continuing to finish over the front side will allow him to work the bottom half the strike zone. Following a long toss and agility program will help elevate this player's game to the next level. Hunter will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
