Official Scouting Report

  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

11/03/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Wilsonville (Portland), OR Hunter is a tall 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2022. in the field, Hunter shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He barrels up the baseball and makes consistent contact to all fields. On the mound, Hunter shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 54-58mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 62-66mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Hunter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
