09/08/2019 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Hunter is a lean C/OF who will graduate in 2023. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.01. Behind the plate, he shows good flexion and tracks the ball well. He sticks balls well in zone but needs to let ball travel and soften glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.19 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He will benefit by working to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. Offensively, he shows an open setup with balance. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. With 4 years to further develop, Hunter has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
