07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Hunter is a scrappy, 2-way player who continues to progress. At SS, Hunter has good speed, quick feet, and agile movements to the ball. He fields in a low/square position, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and momentum across the diamond with carry. On the mound, Hunter has a clean arm circle, a compact delivery, and he keeps the ball down in the zone. He keeps his eyes on target, mixes his off-speed well, and throws strikes. Offensively, Hunter has a middle approach, good bat speed, and a solid finish. He stands in well balanced, hits from a solid base, and he hits line drives.

06/19/2017 - College PREP - Katy (Houston), TX Hunter is a talented SS/RHP prospect who has a well-rounded skill set with a projectable frame giving him good upside. Offensively, Hunter has a tall, open stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride. Hunter has an aggressive approach with a direct swing path and gets good extension at contact. He shows hard contact with a line drive approach and power to the pull side. In the field, Hunter plays with active, effective footwork and an aggressive approach covering good ground with the correct angles. He gets around the baseball to field it in a square, athletic position and has a clean exchange. He does a nice job playing through the baseball with momentum towards his target. He throws with a quick arm action from a 3/4 arm slot producing strong, online throws across the diamond. On the mound, Hunter has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and has the proper stride length as he rotates with his core towards his target. Hunter shows good tail on his fastball at 80-81 MPH. He also features a deceptive changeup with movement and medium breaking curveball. Overall, Hunter has a talented skill set on both sides of the ball and good potential to take his game to the next level.

08/03/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run as he hides the ball well. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. He shows off his athletic ability on his turns / feeds of the double play. Presenting glove more out front will aid in improving defensive abilities. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path and aggressive approach. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Hunter has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

02/07/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Tomball (Houston), TX Hunter is a hard worker who continues to make improvements. At SS, he has active footwork and moves well into an athletic fielding position behind the GB. He moves well to his glove-side, gathers smoothly and has a clean exchange to throw. Playing through the ball more will help to improve his skills at SS. With the bat, this RHH displays a square setup with centered balance. He swings on a direct path and squares the ball up consistently. On the mound, Hunter is around the zone with all 3-pitches. FB now tops out at 75 mph while his CB shows 10/4 shape with good action. Changeup shows some sink and will get GB outs. Only a 2019 grad - Hunter has a bright future ahead of him as he continues to work and develop.

07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Hunter showed well in his most recent outing for Baseball Factory. He is a SS/RHP with a lot of positive energy and eagerness to learn. Defensively, he showed good pre-pitch actions with the glove ready to go. Eliminating the glove pat and striving to gain ground to throw will improve Hunter's game significantly. On the mound, Hunter throws from the Hi 3/4-slot with a deceptive delivery making it tough for hitters to get a good piece. He showed a 3-pitch mix with a quick arm action, where he was able to repeat with good tempo to keep the hitters off balance. Tapping into more of his lower 1/2 and developing a more direct line to the target will allow Hunter to stay consistent in the strike zone. At the plate, this RHH showed a middle of the field approach with relaxed hands, good rhythm and power potential as he matures. Hunter continues to make adjustments and puts himself in the best place to succeed.

12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Hunter is a versatile young player who competes and plays hard. Defensively, Hunter works through the ball well, shows good arm strength and flashed solid hands at SS. Continuing to play downhill and playing low will help his be a more efficient infielder. On the mound, Hunter is a RHP who gathers over the rubber well, strides well and works with good tempo. Slowing down his body and focusing on using his lower half will help him command his pitches better. Offensively, Hunter sets up athletically, activates his hands with a good load and barrels the ball well. Hunter shows great potential as a pitcher with a good demeanor, and he plays hard.

06/16/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Houston, TX Hunter is a skilled two-way player (SS/RHP) that will graduate in 2019. At short, he picked the ball well with sure hands and finished plays with a quick release throwing to his target. Offensively, he kept his hands inside after getting to a good hitting position with activated hands. He drove some with his lower half and showed pull pop. On the mound, he threw three pitches from the 3/4 arm slot and topped out at 68 MPH with his FB. He threw a CB and CH with some young shape and feel. Overall - Kelley is a good young player that will grow and strengthen over time into a solid high school player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
