07/17/2017 - Factory Development Institute National Select Program Hunter is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Factory Development Institute National Select Program. In the field, Hunter shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low position and fields the ball with soft hands. He has a quick release on his throws and works to keep them on target. Hunter can improve defensively by getting on a long toss program to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He gets into his load well and comes through the zone with his lower half, producing good contact to his pull side. Hunter can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his swing. With three more years to develop, Hunter has the time and potential to further progress his game.

06/26/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Troy (Albany), NY Hunter is a (2020 grad) R/R who has a tall/athletic build. With the bat, this righty shows a square setup with rhythm to load. Swing is level as he squares the ball up and looks to drive the middle of the field. Behind the plate, Hunter sits in well and tracks pitches into a soft pocket. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws down to 2B. At SS, he hustles into a square fielding position and tracks the ball into his mitt. He gathers well and works in-line toward 1B. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve skills on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
