06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hunter is a coachable RHP/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Omaha National World Series. On the mound, Hunter gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Hunter shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 60-61mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Hunter improve as a pitcher. In the field, Hunter shows smooth footwork and flashes the ability to finish plays. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a quick exchange and throws from a high 3/4 angle, keeping them accurate through his target. Hunter can improve defensively by increasing his lateral range. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He is controlled getting into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He gets good extension through the ball, leading to solid line drives. Taking a more level swing path can help Hunter improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Hunter has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
