03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. He did show at 3B for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date. Fastball showed a range of 73-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound. At 3B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball more and play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside he ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving stock on the mound.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Hunter is a team player RHP/SS out of Wisconsin in the class of 2026. Defensively, he showed the ability to make the routine play while being able to throw from multiple arm slots across the diamond. Offensively, he had a balanced set up with relaxed hands which helped him whip the barrel through the zone and work to all fields. On the mound, he worked with good tempo from a 3/4 arm slot. He threw a fastball which topped out at 66 mph and a breaking ball that ranged from 55-58 mph with an 11/5 action. Hunter could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, inside the ball hitting drills, extension hitting drills, one handed ground ball drills and agility training.

12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Hunter is an athletic RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. Fastball showed a range of 65-66 mph. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Hunter has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
