03/22/2015 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Hunter is a talented 2-way player as a SS/RHP. Defensively in the MIF, he shows active footwork and moves well around the GB from right to left. He presents his glove out in front and funnels to a quick/clean exchange. With the bat, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. Swing path is level as he drives the ball on a line. He has some pop as the ball jumps off of his barrel when centered. More extension through contact will help to tap into power potential. On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He keeps his eyes on the target, stays directional and repeats his delivery well. FB gets on hitters quickly, cracking the mitt at 86 mph while showing some run. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with late break. Hunter (2016 grad) has a solid all-around skill set with a very bright future in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
