07/21/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 16U Hunter continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (7.22 60 time) in displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry (92 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine with well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength (87 mph exit velocity) in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. Fastball shows a range of 83-86 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Hunter has a big upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with baseball abilities.

09/16/2020 - Pathway AZ Underclass - 16U Hunter continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with zip (83 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (84 exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed range of 72-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Hunter is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. In the field, Hunter takes a good first step and gets into position on time. He fields with a relaxed glove and makes a two-handed exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with life through his target. Quickening his footwork can help Hunter improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a soft stride. He gets his hands activated in a small load and remains centered in his lower half. He barrels up the baseball well and makes consistent contact. Hunter can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half sooner. On the mound, Hunter gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate. Hunter shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 59-60mph. Extending through his release more can help Hunter improve as a pitcher. Overall, Hunter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

11/03/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Wilsonville (Portland), OR Hunter is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Hunter shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and sprays the ball to all fields. On the mound, Hunter shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 61-64mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Hunter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

07/05/2019 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Hunter is a young 2-way player that worked hard out in California. At 2B Hunter shows an athletic ready position with effective footwork. He fields the ball square fielding out in front of his body. His exchanges are clean as he creates momentum towards his target and makes accurate throws around the diamond. At the plate Hunter has a tall set up with a short stride, working hard to try and get on plane. He shows good ability to make contact to all fields. On the mound Hunter showed a 2-pitch mix with a FB/SL mix. The FB was 64-67 MPH and a SL with 9-3 shape. He keeps his head over his back foot and separates on time finishing in line with his target. Continuing to work on his arm strength and hitting mechanics will help Hunter improve his game. Hunter makes adjustments well and asked a lot of questions, we look forward to seeing his progress.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Hunter is a hardworking 2B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Hunter has a tall, open setup with his weight in the back of his stance. He has a load with a short, square stride. Hunter maintains a still head while showing aggressive swings. He has an in and out swing path. Hunter is a contact type hitter who shows solid contact to the pull side. In the field, Hunter has a quick first step and covers good ground. He works around the baseball and presents his glove as he fields it in a square position. Hunter has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent with online strength across the diamond. He also shows a smooth backhand and clean double play feeds. On the mound, Hunter has good composure and pitches to contact. He has an on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Hunter has a clean arm action and cuts off his release. He stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. Overall, Hunter is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to get even better.

06/24/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tacoma (Seattle), WA Hunter is a lean 2-way player who pitches and plays 2nd base. On the mound, Hunter has a clean arm circle, he keeps his eyes on target, and he separates on time. He has a controlled landing toward home, finishes in a complete position, and is around the zone with his pitches. At 2nd base, Hunter has good pre-pitch actions, an aggressive approach to the ball, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Hunter has an open stance, good balance, and he can spray the ball to all fields. He has a long swing through the zone and uses some lower body. Hunter will need to work on the following in order to improve overall skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
