  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Hunter is a hardworking 2B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Hunter has a tall, open setup with his weight in the back of his stance. He has a load with a short, square stride. Hunter maintains a still head while showing aggressive swings. He has an in and out swing path. Hunter is a contact type hitter who shows solid contact to the pull side. In the field, Hunter has a quick first step and covers good ground. He works around the baseball and presents his glove as he fields it in a square position. Hunter has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are consistent with online strength across the diamond. He also shows a smooth backhand and clean double play feeds. On the mound, Hunter has good composure and pitches to contact. He has an on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Hunter has a clean arm action and cuts off his release. He stays square to home plate with the proper stride length. Overall, Hunter is a well-rounded prospect who has potential to get even better.

06/24/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tacoma, WA Hunter is a lean 2-way player who pitches and plays 2nd base. On the mound, Hunter has a clean arm circle, he keeps his eyes on target, and he separates on time. He has a controlled landing toward home, finishes in a complete position, and is around the zone with his pitches. At 2nd base, Hunter has good pre-pitch actions, an aggressive approach to the ball, and he throws with accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, Hunter has an open stance, good balance, and he can spray the ball to all fields. He has a long swing through the zone and uses some lower body. Hunter will need to work on the following in order to improve overall skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
