07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Hunter is an athletic 2-way at SS/RHP. In the infield Hunter shows the ability to make the routine plays. He works hard to get into a good fielding position as he makes a quick and clean exchange to make a play. Hunter throws from multiple slots with a quick and clean arm action making accurate and strong throws. At the plate he starts slightly open with comfortable hands and begins his load. Hunter gets his foot down rotating against a firm front side creating solid hip/shoulder separation with the ability to hit to all fields. On the bump, Hunter shows a FB/CB mix with great AS run on the FB and 10-4 break on the CB. He starts square on the rubber as he gets a relaxed knee lift and separates on time. He gets good extension as he lands controlled rotating to finish. Hunter shows solid tools and will continue to grow the next few years.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Hunter is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who will graduate in 2021. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a compact swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he takes good first steps in attacking the baseball. Glove action is soft / clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 73-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 3 years to further develop, Hunter has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
