02/18/2018 - College PREP - Tyler, TX Hunter is a tall, lean two-way prospect who uses his long levers to his advantage. He has a strong arm from third, making long throws from the line in plenty of time. His pre-pitch work is solid to get in good position to make any play with efficient footwork. He fields square with his hands presented to make plays cleanly. At the dish, he loads to a power position and uses a strong lower half to launch through the zone. He shows good balance and has some feel for the barrel to make consistent contact and spray the ball to all fields. Working on taking his hands to the ball will shorten his swing path and lead to more hard contact. On the bump, this tall RHP shows consistent mechanics with a quick arm that lead to good stuff. He features a mid 70's FB with run, an 11-5 CB with good spin and a knuckleball that dances. Hunter is a prospect we look forward to watching during his senior campaign.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
