  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Hunter continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show for the first time and the mound at the event. He improved his foot speed as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he utilizes his lower half well through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 67-71 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. He maintains arm speed on his knuckleball and shows good tumbling action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

08/26/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Hunter is a tall, solid, 2-way player who plays 3B and OF. In the INF, Hunter has active feet, agile movements, and he fields low and athletically. He attacks aggressively, plays through properly, and has a clean exchange with a loose/accurate arm to his target. In the OF, Hunter has active feet, he tracks well, and fields athletically with momentum toward his target. At the plate, Hunter has a square set-up, good balance, and he sits in well. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he makes hard/consistent contact. Hunter can improve already solid skills with work on the following.

Infield
1. Exchange
2. Fielding position
Outfield
1. Release
2. Range

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
