06/13/2015 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Hunter is a lean, athletic OF that will graduate in 2017 with room to fill out and a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.43 60 time. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and moves well laterally, displaying range. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. At the plate he shows an athletic / squared setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he works to use his lower half more aggressively. At the event, he was 4 for 10 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable. Hunter has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to improve.
