10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Hunter has the makings of a special type player at the next level as he displays outstanding tools across the board. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.93. In the OF, actions are smooth, clean, and quick. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and shows big play potential in the OF. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Once on base, he utilizes his outstanding foot speed to get around the bases quickly. He plays with high energy and gets after it full throttle on the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Hunter has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

04/30/2017 - College PREP - Fairfield (Sacramento), CA Hunter is a talented outfield prospect who has an above average skill on both sides of the ball and graduates in 2018. In the field, Hunter plays with fluid footwork and solid body actions giving him the ability to cover ground in each direction laterally. He gets behind the baseball and presents his glove fielding it athletically. He has a quick exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. Hunter has a quick release and his throws are online with good strength behind them. As a right-handed hitter, Hunter has an athletic stance with a centered balance. He has a good load with smooth rhythm and takes a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Hunter show fast bat speed with a direct swing path producing consistent contact. He is a line drive hitter who can drive the ball to the pull side. Overall, Hunter has an advanced approach to the game and good potential to become an impactful player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
