11/04/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Hunter is a young, solid catcher who will graduate in 2020. Defensively, Hunter has active feet, he sits in well, and his hands are soft. He tracks well, blocks softly, and has a quick/clean exchange with accuracy and carry to his target. Pop times were as low as 1.92 seconds to 2nd base. At the plate, Hunter has an open/athletic set-up, a short/square stride, and he swings aggressively. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he works the ball gap to gap. More live hands, a better load, and improved timing will help offensive numbers get better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
