01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Hunter is a MIF who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. A projectable SS - Hunter has lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Hunter is a vocal leader on the field from his SS position and always finds new ways to improve his game. He shows off some impressive raw power that really shows itself when he is on time with his swing. He shows feel in the box with knowledge of the strike zone and an understanding of his strengths to hunt for a pitch to do damage with. He shows the ability to make consistent contact and can use all fields for base hits. At short, his actions are fluid and his feet and hands work together to show range and center the ball to field. He works around it with presented hands and exchanges cleanly to throw quickly with multiple arm slots. Eliminating the glove pat will allow him to get rid of the ball quicker and make the tough plays look easy. Hunter is a talented player with lots of potential on the field.

06/16/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Hunter worked out at SS during his time in Omaha. He is a hard working, coachable player with a good work ethic. Defensively, Hunter has quick feet, agile movements, and he presents his glove well. He moves well to the ball, makes plays, and has an accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, Hunter has pop in his bat, he keeps a still head, and his hands are quick. He has good balance and gets solid extension through the ball.

05/06/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Colorado Springs, CO Hunter is a lean, athletic SS graduating in 2019. In the field, Hunter has stayed consistent with his mechanics showing efficient feet and centering himself around ground balls. He shows a square fielding position, presenting his hands out front and displaying a long arm action (3/4 arm slot), making consistently accurate throws to his targets. Defense can improve by developing cleaner exchanges into throws along with a quicker release. At the plate, Hunter shows an open setup with a short stride and a good load. He keeps his balance center and keeps a firm front half giving him his fast bat speed. His swing path is on-plane as he makes consistent contact through a line-drive approach. Hunter can improve offensively by developing a rhythm in his swing and staying strong in his legs. With further development to his game, Hunter could play at the next level.

02/03/2018 - College PREP - Parker (Denver), CO Hunter is an athletic SS prospect who will graduate in 2019. In the field, Hunter shows efficient footwork and centers the ball in the middle of his body. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistently on-line to his target. Hunter can improve defensively by working a quicker release into his throws. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He shows a smooth rhythm and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact. Hunter can improve as a hitter by working a load into his swing. Overall, Hunter is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
