Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2019 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Hunter is a tall and lean 3B/RHP that showed as a solid 2-way player out in Arizona. at 3B, Hunter shows athletic movements with quick footwork to the ball taking good reads off the bat. He fields the ball athletically with a solid glove and makes clean exchanges as he works to throw. He gets rid of the ball with a loose arm action and delivers the ball with accuracy and carry. At the plate, Hunter sets up in a square stance and starts the swing with a short stride. He shows an explosive lower half as he gets the barrel on plane and delivers the barrel with explosive bat speed. Working on getting better extension through the ball will allow Hunter to continue to improve his offense. On the mound, Hunter works a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The FB is 79-81 with good AS run, the CB is 11-5 with sharp break, and the CH is deceptive with FB arm speed and good depth. Pitching, hunter shows a confident presence on the mound as he gathers over the rubber and separates with a fluid arm action. He gets a strong stride down the mound keeping good direction and accelerates as he delivers the ball finishing with good extension. As a 2021, Hunter shows promise to be a solid 2-way player at the next level.

09/01/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Hunter showed very good athleticism at 3B and on the mound during his last workout. He is a thin, fast, player with active feet and firm hands defensively. He fields low, in a square position, his exchange is quick, and he throws with carry, accuracy, and momentum across the diamond. On the mound, Hunter has good balance over the rubber and a loose/clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with a proper length stride, and his FB topped out at 83 MPH. Offensively, Hunter has an athletic stance, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has quick hands and shows the ability to spray the ball to all fields.

06/02/2019 - College PREP - Columbia, MD Hunter is a athletic, talented 3rd baseman with loads of potential. He was timed at 6.68 in the 60 yard dash. At 3B, Hunter has quick/fluid feet, agile movements to the ball, and he his hands are soft. He has good range, makes plays consistently, and his exchange is clean. Hunter gains momentum toward his target, and can throw from multiple arm slots across the diamond. Added accuracy will only help defensive grades get even better. Offensively, Hunter has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has good bat whip, he can hit to all fields, and he uses his lower body.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
