Hunter has made impressive gains in the 4 years we've known him. On the bump, he flashes command of a three pitch mix; fastball, curveball and changeup. He gets to his balance point consistently and is rather effortless in creating a downhill plane. At the hot corner, his feet and hands work well together and he's able to throw from multiple arm slots all with carry. All that being said, where he shines the most is with the stick. Hunter gets his hips through on every swing with extension and a high finish creating backspin and gap-to-gap power. We predict a solid finish to Thompson's high school career.
