04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Oklahoma City , OK Hunter is a SS who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. At SS, has a good prep step, with fluid footwork, and he shows good lateral range. He works to center the baseball, with soft hands out front, and ability to pick out hops. He made on-line throws consistently from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 81mph across diamond. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and upright stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with good hand separation, and ability to control the barrel. Gets on-plane early and showed a fast bat through the hitting zone. He hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during his round of BP. With another year of growth and development, we foresee Hunter making huge strides on the baseball field.

03/19/2023 - National Showcase - Tulsa, OK Hunter is a 2023 SS/RHP prospect with an athletic frame. In the field, Hunter shows off quick, fluid footwork and agile range at short. He does a great job of getting in a low, athletic fielding position with his body squared off. He has soft hands that he uses to field the ball out in front. Very athletic actions overall, including in his exchanges and his accurate throws across the diamond. Does a good job of working right to left towards first and picking out good hops to field. At the plate, he starts with a closed, tall stance. His stride is shortened he does a good job of getting a load. He has a very smooth rhythm and quick hands that he throws to the baseball. He keeps his hands inside the ball and is able to spray line drives to all fields. His lower half does a great job of working through the ball and he stays direct to the baseball. On the mound, Hunter throws from a 3/4 arm angle with loose, quick actions. He gathers over the rubber and has a proper stride length for his frame. He does a good job of working downhill and he throws with intent. He does a good job of working both sides of the plate with his FB. His CB has good depth and break. Works hard to get his lower half more involved. Very high pitching IQ that would transition well to the next level!

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
