11/25/2018 - College PREP - Pearland (Houston), TX Hunter is an athletic SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Hunter shows quick footwork and uses his speed to cover ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Making better double play feeds can help Hunter improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an atheltic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with explosive bat speed which leads to loud contact to all fields. Overall, Hunter is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

02/04/2018 - College PREP - Houston, TX Hunter is a lean, athletic SS prospect who can really pick it in the field. He has a laser arm at short and makes long throws from the hole look easy to throw out runners. His footwork is quick and fluid as he uses his athleticism to show extended range to both sides. Hands are soft and clean to make plays and quick DP transfers. At the dish, he loads to a power position with a strong bat angle and balanced base. His bat path is level through the zone and he extends through contact to show gap-to-gap ability. Staying inside the ball will result in more hard hit balls and base hits. Hunter is an intriguing prospect we look forward to watching develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
