Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

06/29/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Hunter showed some upgrades in his game during his time in Salem, VA. He is a young, athletic, 2-way player with progressing skills. At 2B, Hunter has fluid/active footwork, clean hands, and he attacks the ball aggressively. He moves well to the glove side, fields cleanly, and throws with a short / accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Hunter has good balance and a clean arm circle. He keeps his eyes on target, separates his hand on time, and throws strikes with his FB. Offensively, Hunter has an open stance, a short stride, and good balance. He swings level and on-plane, and hits hard to the pull side.

07/30/2021 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Jackie Robinson Training Complex (MS) Hunter is a C who will graduate in 2026. Solid frame athletic build with strength present and room to add more strength. At C, active/efficient feet and presents a low target. Works around ball with good direction towards second base. Showed a short arm action with accurate/online throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity of 57mph and a best pop time of 3.27 seconds. A left-handed hitter, hits from a tall and athletic stance. A simple load, with good rhythm, and a good bat angle at contact. Good contact hitter who recorded a bat exit velocity of 57mph during his testing. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/24/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Ruther Glen (Richmond), VA Hunter is a lean 2B who will graduate in 2026. At 2B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 5 years to further develop, Hunter has potential with time and room to improve his game.

04/29/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Charlottesville, VA Hunter is a young, 2nd baseman who hits from the left side. Defensively, Hunter shows good hustle to the ball, his hands and feet play well, and he keeps it in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and a short/accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Hunter has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and average bat speed. He makes contact and can hit to all fields. Hunter can get better with work on the following

Defense
1. Attack ball
2. Fielding position
3. Release
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Rhythm/timing
3. Swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
