07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Hunter showed very well offensively and defensive at the UA Southwest. He is a solid/athletic player with a high ceiling. At 2B, Hunter has quick/active feet, soft/sure hands, and he fields aggressively. He makes plays cleanly, his exchange is quick, and he throws with momentum and accuracy to his target. Offensively, Hunter has an open stance, he swings in good rhythm, and flashes solid bat speed. He has a good eye, can drive the ball the opposite way, and has good speed down the line.

10/04/2017 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Hunter is an athletic 2B prospect who can really pick it defensively. At 2B, he shows natural instincts to field and throw, staying low to field athletically and varying his arm angle to get rid of the ball quickly. His hands are soft and fast, making quick feeds and accurate throws to his target. He has really improved his strength which is evident in his ability to drive the ball, upping his exit velocity 6mph. He shows good barrel accuracy in his swing to make square contact and hit the ball hard. His swing path is on plane and stays through the zone to allow him to make lots of contact, as he did not strike out once. He is a coachable player who asks questions and has a willingness to improve. Hunter is the type of gamer who can be a valuable piece for any team he plays for.

06/25/2017 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Hunter is an athletic SS who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Hunter shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a low, athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a very quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain on-line to his target. Hunter can improve defensively by working through the ball more. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through the zone with decent bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Hunter can improve as a hitter by using his lower half more. With 3 years to further develop, Hunter has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
