Official Scouting Report

01/12/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Kaneohe (Honolulu), HI Ian is a 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. In the OF, Ian has a presentable glove, efficient footwork, and covers ground well. He fields low, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy and momentum to his cut off man. On the mound, Ian has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, gets good extension, and shows a controlled landing toward the plate. Offensively, Ian has a tall set-up, good bat speed, and he works the middle of the field. He swings on plane and finishes completely. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Footwork
2. Arm strength
Pitching
1. Finish
2. Off-speed
3. Arm strength
Offense
1. Shorten swing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
